creating spaces for the well-being of people & our planet.
I have always dreamt of being an interior designer and always wanted to help people and our planet. After honing my skills during my degree and having the freedom to research aspects of design that were most important to me, I realised that these my interests did not exist in separate spheres. Interior design and well-being actually go hand in hand, and viewing the two in a symbiotic relationship produces more purposeful design. It is a proven fact that interiors play a huge part in our happiness. Considering human beings spend 90% of their time indoors, I believe interior designers have a responsibility to ensure that spaces are designed in ways that give us that feel-good sensation – that boost productivity, inspire us and promote well-being. I want to help design spaces that make people happy, promote well-being and are considerate to our planet.
I am heavily influenced by the natural world; I always say if you’re stuck for inspiration nature is the best place to find it - whether it be materials, patterns or colours. As humans we have a strong, instinctive desire to be connected to nature, and in our modern world, we have become so disconnected. However, it should not just be aesthetically pleasing, it can provide amazing benefits for physical and mental health. With conscious design at the forefront of our minds it can benefit our planet too.
